"Can we buy the man dinner"- 5 year old asks mom buys dinner for homeless man

There is a story hitting the waves about a young man from Alabama. Well young might be an overstatement, the kid is only 5 years old. The remarkable thing is he already understands the concept of seeing a problem and taking action. Josiah and his mom went to a Waffle House for dinner and outside they saw a man that looked dirty, with only a bike and a few bags tied to it. Ava, mother, told the 5 year old that the man may be homeless. This sparked a series of questions from Josiah, "What does that mean?", "Where is his house?" " Where does he keep his groceries?". Through her answers the 5 year old Josiah recognized a problem and his instincts were to jump into action. He felt that the man seemed hungry so he asked his mom can she buy dinner for the man. Overtaken with the compassion her son is showing, she agreed.

The man ordered a burger with extra bacon but before he could eat, Josiah wanted to sing a blessing over the food with him. "God our Father, God our Father, we thank you, we thank you, for our many blessings," " For our many blessings, Amen, Amen."

This story has touched many hearts and inspired others to not only be more aware of those in need but to take action. As adults we tend to make excuses as to why we aren't doing more for those in need. We say that we need more money to help or we don't have time. We sometimes procrastinate and say we will volunteer somewhere next month and that never seems to happen. I'm a firm believer in "everything happens for a reason". So if you find yourself in a situation like Josiah, where you get that strong feeling to help, understand that you were placed in that moment at that location for a reason. Adhere to that feeling and help in any way you can. Even if its something as small as giving someone a compliment. That compliment may just be the highlight of that persons day. So lets learn from a 5 year old and go out and be a blessing to someone today!

The Power Of The Mind

Take a second and remove all limits from your mind, If there were no limits, what would you be doing with your life? And it doesn't have to be a singular thing, Les Brown said "Most people never discover their talents or abilities because they believe they are 1 dimensional and they don't try to stretch themselves and learn more". Start to see yourself doing those exact things. We aint worried about how to get there right now. Once you visualize yourself doing it, it starts to build something within you that turns into the belief that you can do it. Your mind is so much more powerful than we give it credit for. It took a supercomputer in Japan 40 minutes to map 1 second of brain activity. That same power can be filtered and focused on turning your dreams into your reality. And it starts with figuring out what you want, constantly planting the seed in your mind that you can have it And once you believe, there is no stopping you!
